V is for… Volcano

Logan James Mitchell, once the tallest guy in my class, was the first boy I fell for.  I haven’t seen him since school, but today – almost ten years later – we’re going to come face-to-face at a friend’s wedding.

I’m outside the church alone and I’ve been reliably informed that he’s got no plus-one.

Familiar faces arrive and gather in groups, introducing their partners.

I wait, scanning every face, waiting as if I were still that crushing kid.

Then he arrives, still tall, still hot, and when he looks at me and smiles, my feelings overflow like a volcano.
